EACH night during December, Bonnie Cardile is helping bring the magic of Christmas to local kids.

The Warwick woman transforms her home into a magical wonderland and for the past eight years, people of all ages have flocked to her home to enjoy the extravaganza.

Even Santa Claus has made an appearance at the Law Rd home this year, chatting with kids and listening to their Christmas wishes.

Mrs Cardile said the jolly fat man and a touch of snow have created a great Christmas atmosphere.

"The snow machine is a really big hit with the kids -it attracts them like the pied piper," she said.

Mrs Cardile dons a Christmas outfit every night, with observant kids even recognising her as Mrs Claus when she is out and about.

"I wear the hat and apron because the kids love it and it makes them happy," Mrs Cardile said.

Completing the decorating process is no easy feat, with masses of ornaments and lights adorning her home.

A family friend has been enlisted as her helper this year, as Mrs Cardile faced the first Christmas without her beloved husband, Charlie.

Despite days and days of labour, Mrs Cardile said it was all worthwhile to see the joy the display brought to her visitors

"One lady said she isn't interested in Christmas and after she came through she said she was going home to put her Christmas tree up," she said.

Mrs Cardile said she hoped more people would get into the Christmas spirit.

She would love to see everyone have at least one Santa and a string of lights decorating their home.

"The people come in each year and come up for a chat and that brings happiness to me," she said.

Santa will visit 58 Law Rd tomorrow between 7pm and 8.30pm.
