Making sure we're all okay

WARWICK Yellow Cabs owner Nancy Miller has decked out two of her taxis in yellow stickers to support R U OK? Day.

The national day, on September 13, aims to reduce suicide rates in the country and members of the Warwick community will host a lunch on Sunday, September 9.

Mrs Miller, who has been involved with the event for years, again jumped at the chance to help the people of Warwick.

"I've been with cabs for 22 years so I've seen a lot and (depression and suicide) has touched my family over the years so it's good to give something back to the community," she said.

Drivers will have a meeting with the R U OK? team and be briefed on how to react if they are approached by someone who needs help.

"Getting on board with this is such a worthy cause because a smile costs nothing and it can save a life," Mrs Miller said.

If you want to pick up a ticket to the lunch, drop into the Daily News. Tickets are $45.
