Making tracks for weekend of records

HORSE POWER WITH GERARD WALSH

SEEMS like the horse power capital of Australia mantle claimed by Warwick is perfect for this community.

We have the most races and acceptances for a non-TAB meeting in the past couple of decades at Allman Park this Saturday and there are record numbers for a road race meeting for the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.

A lot of it is to do with facilities.

As a few racing officials have said this week, the numbers attracted to Warwick for racing are a lot to do with the quality of the track.

When the floods come, having a track on the flood plain is a disadvantage, but for the rest of the time having a track on some of the best soil in town is great for grass growth.

It is the same at Morgan Park. After more than $1.2million was spent on the raceway, the surface is getting the thumbs up. The bike riders even appreciate the surface of the track more than the car drivers.

Morgan Park News

MORGAN Park News is out again and promotes all to do with horse power sports in the area.

This edition also has a short story and photos of Rob Balint and Peter Lane competing at Targa Tasmania.

The good mates are also involved in motorsport in the town, Rob in the super sprints at Morgan Park and Peter is Warwick Karting Club president.
