Man accused of strangling partner

A MAN charged with allegedly bashing his partner in a sustained attack has appeared in court.

Caine Aaron Zagami, 20, was charged in April with with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of torture.

Police will allege Mr Zagami assaulted his partner, 19, and attempted to choke her on three occasions as well as threatening her with a knife.

He is also accused of attempting to strangle her at an address in Bremer Street, Churchill.

The matter was adjourned until June 15.
