Man acquitted of sexual relations with daughter

A CABOOLTURE father has been acquitted of maintaining a sexual relationship with his daughter.

The 41-year-old man also had been accused of raping his daughter for years in Caboolture and Kipper Ring.

The matter was heard over four days in the Brisbane Supreme Court before a jury found him not guilty of the charges.

The jury heard a recorded police interview with the girl as well as evidence from her foster parents, who she first made the complaint to, and her brother.

The court heard none of the other witnesses saw what the girl had claimed.

The girl, now 14, had alleged her father first touched her on her "seventh or eighth" birthday.

She claimed the offending then continued for a number of years.
