Airlift after lopping accident

AN 18-year-old man was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital late yesterday morning after being struck on the back of the head by a large branch while lopping a tree.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter picked the man up from Warwick Hospital about 11am.

CareFlight air crewman Luke Pagano said the man had a suspected fractured skull.

“It’s believed the young man was cutting branches off a tree on a property just outside of Warwick when a large branch struck him on the back of the head,” he said.
