Man airlifted after motorcycle and emu collide

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital in Toowoomba after his motorcycle and an emu collided at Beebo at 9am Saturday.

The accident was on the Texas to Yelarbon Rd.

The 59-year-old suffered a fractured collarbone and possible rib fracture and was taken by ambulance to Texas Hospital and later airlifted by the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight chopper to Toowoomba General Hospital.

It is understood the emu died on the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
