Man allegedly tried to rape good samaritan

A MAN accused of trying to rape a woman who offered him a room when he was too drunk to drive home has been released on bail.

The 25-year-old Warwick man was charged with attempted rape and assault on Saturday night.

Warwick police acting officer-in-charge Lisa Self said the alleged victim and the man had briefly known each other before the alleged attack.

He is due to front Warwick Magistrates Court on July 21.
