Man and woman charged over Bundaberg drugs, weapons

POLICE have charged a man and a woman with a number of drug and weapon offences following a vehicle intercept in Winfield on Saturday afternoon.

Around 3.30pm, officers intercepted a vehicle on Hairs Road, and allegedly located firearms and drugs.

Later that afternoon, detectives from the Bundaberg Criminal Investigations Branch executed a search warrant at an address on Steeds Road, Winfield.

A number a firearms, ammunition, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a significant amount of money was allegedly located.

A 26-year-old Mitchelton man has been charged with four counts of unlawful possession of weapons, two counts each of possess shortened firearm and possess utensils or pipes, and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs, possess dangerous drugs exceeding schedule 3, possess tainted property, and possess restricted item.

A 20-year-old Mitchelton woman has been charged with two counts each of possess dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of weapons, and one count each of possess dangerous drugs exceeding schedule 3, unlawful use of motor vehicle, possess utensil or pipe, possess tainted property, possess shortened firearm, and possess restricted item.

Both are due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
