Man arrested after police officers 'assaulted' near Warwick

A 36-YEAR-OLD man is in police custody after allegedly assaulting two police officers at Maryvale.

A spokesman from Queensland Police Media said police were called to the scene following an alleged domestic violence offence.

"When they (police) went to apprehend him, he refused and assaulted them,” the spokesman said.

The man reportedly attempted to flee in a vehicle before stingers were deployed to stop him about 10pm on Wednesday night.

The man was taken to Warwick watch house and charged with obstructing and assaulting police as well as multiple domestic violence offences.

He will appear at Warwick Magistrates Court this morning.
