Man badly hurt trying to break up fight at Rocky home

AN Allenstown man has been charged with serious offences after a man was badly injured allegedly trying to break up a fight in Park Avenue, North Rockhampton early Saturday morning.

Police will allege that two people were engaged in a physical altercation at a Wackfor St home when the victim attempted to intervene about 2.30am.

When police arrived they found located an unconscious man.

It is believed a 24-year-old Allenstown man had assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.

A 20-year-old Rockhampton City man sustained head injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital where he was in a serious condition.

The 24-year-old Allenstown man was charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on April 22.
