Man dies after falling head-first into septic tank well

A MAN was reportedly trying to replace a septic tank when he fell head-first into the concrete well and died in southwest Brisbane.

The man, aged in his 50s, fell two metres into the concrete sewerage tank on a private property on Hornsey Road, Anstead.

A bystander raised the alarm about 10am on Wednesday and tried to revive the man.

Paramedics also performed CPR on the man, but were unable to revive him.

It is understood he was an owner-builder.
