Man escapes rollover
A MAN has escaped from the cabin of his over-turned truck with minor injuries after it rolled near Cunningham’s Gap at 5am this morning.
Earlier reports indicated the Victorian driver had suspected spinal injuries but a Warwick Police spokesman said the 35-year-old sustained a cut to his forehead and was transported to Warwick Hospital for observation.
The area near the crash at Bestbrook on the Cunningham Highway has been slowed to a 60kmh but police say the highway will soon be closed to enable salvage crews to up-turn the Interlink Fright Management rig.
“The truck is in a precarious position, it hasn’t fully rolled over but it’s leaning up against the road’s shoulder,” the spokesman said.
