Man killed, one injured in crash
A 28-year-old Goondiwindi man died yesterday morning when the utility he was driving rolled near Yelarbon.
The man, who Warwick Police named as Byron Carrigan, was driving on Merton Road nearYelarbon at 1.05am when theincident happened.
A male passenger in the utility was transferred to Goondiwindi Hospital with minor injuries.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle accident just after 1am.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was given CPR when a crew arrived on the scene and that a helicopter had been requested to transfer him to hospital.
“They were trying to find landing zones in that area but he was very ill and had suffered a lot of trauma,” the spokeswoman said.
He died before the helicopter arrived.
Police investigations are ongoing.
