Man reportedly swept away by Mt Isa floods found safe

UPDATE: A 22-year-old local man has been located safe and well this morning after a three-day search was conducted amid fears he was missing in flood waters at Mount Isa.

A member of the public saw a man swept away by the flooded Leichardt River at the Twenty Third Avenue crossing in Happy Valley around 10pm on Friday.

Police would like to thank everyone involved in the search including the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Swift Water Rescue team and members of the public.

EARLIER: A SEARCH will resume around 6am this morning for a man missing in flood waters at Mount Isa.

Around 10pm last night a member of the public saw the man swept away by the flooded Leichardt River at the Twenty Third Avenue crossing at Happy Valley.

A search by police and swift water rescue personnel last night failed to locate any trace of the man.
