Strike to head allegedly leaves man semi-conscious
UPDATE 3.45pm: A 29-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted in Stanthorpe last night was reportedly hit once in the head before falling and striking his head on the ground.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Police Services said the incident occurred outside the Central Hotel after the pub closed at 2am this morning.
The man reportedly lost consciousness when he hit his head on the ground.
A spokesman from Queensland Ambulance Services said the man had an "altered level of consciousness" and was not completely alert when the crew arrived on the scene.
The man was taken to Stanthorpe Hospital but did not sustain any serious injuries and was later discharged.
The spokeswoman said a 23-year-old Stanthorpe man was assisting police with their enquiries but investigations were continuing.
No formal charges have been laid at this stage.
INITIAL 2.30pm: A 29-year-old man was allegedly hit in the head at the Central Hotel in Stanthorpe overnight.
A spokesman from Queensland Ambulance Services said the man had an "altered level of consciousness" and was not compeltely alert when the crew arrived on the scene about 2.15am.
The man was transported to Stanthorpe Hospital but was later discharged.
