Man seriously injured after campdrafting accident near Miles

A MAN has been airlifted in a critical condition with suspected head and spinal injuries after falling from his horse during a campdrafting event this morning.

The rider had been campdrafting at a property just south of Miles when the accident occurred.

The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked just before 11am, landing at a sports oval at Miles.

QAS crews treated and transferred the patient to the oval and he was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane by the CareFlight crew in a critical but stable condition.

It's the third mission the RACQ CareFlight rescue crews have flown today.

The Sunshine Coast crew airlifted a man in his 20s from Murgon Hospital this morning with suspected head injuries after the car he was in rolled in a single vehicle accident earlier near Wondai.

In the early hours of this morning the Sunshine Coast crew airlifted a patient from Hervey Bay Hospital to Nambour Base Hospital for further treatment.

RACQ CareFlight crews, on average, treat and transfer more than three people a day, many with serious illnesses or injuries.
