Man threatened to shoot police in Murgon seige
A SIEGE last night in Murgon ended when a 41-year-old man was taken into police custody.
Murgon Police Sergeant Ken Slater said Watt St was cordoned off after the situation escalated.
"We had a gentlemen there who produced a knife," Sgt Slater said.
"He later produced what was believed to be a fire arm.
"He stated that he wanted to shoot police."
Sgt Slater said a police negotiator was brought in from Tiaro to handle the situation.
"Negotiations began. After a period of time the police obtained entry in to the home."
The Murgon resident will face three charges of serious assault at Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Monday.
