Marathon weekend ahead with Pentath-run on
PENTATH-RUN: There are 2500 nominations so far for the annual Warwick Pentath-run this weekend.
Race director Neil Burtenshaw said 296 runners had already nominated for the whole five events.
Counting runners who are competing in one to four events, there are 501 individuals already nominated.
Over the years, there have been some changes to various events but the half marathon to Yangan and the ascent to Queen Mary Falls have been part of the Pentath-run from the start.
The 5km out and back run at Sandy Creek has become one of the most popular of the weekend.
Burtenshaw said a change this year was the construction of a dais at the Sandy Creek Pub for the presentations after the 5km.
The cross country is now around the campgrounds at Leslie Park with two 2.5km laps.
Nominations are still being accepted and can be made at the Senior Citizens Centre in Albert St between 5pm and 8pm Friday.
Nominations will also be accepted before each event but organisers want any runners nominating on the day to be at the start point 30 minutes before the advertised start.
