Marg flies flag for home club with open day win
GOLF: Marg Adcock won the best nett at the Warwick Golf Club ladies open day with a score of 69 this week.
She won overall from fellow Warwick member Marlene Vincent.
Ninety-one players teed off in an event sponsored by Warwick Credit Union, John Dee Warwick and golf professional Sam Eaves.
There were plenty of Warwick winners on the day.
Jill Barnes won best nett in division 1 with 73 while Helen Olsen was best in division 2 with 71.
Trish Bell had the best nett, 72, in division 3 while Judy Stiff won the division 4 prize with 73. Dianne Evans won best nett in veterans with 75.
In division 1, Judy Lester had the best gross score with 92. Fellow Warwick member Patti Hemmings won the division 3 trophy with 101 and Joely Singleton was best in division 4 with 107.
City player Jenny Bradford had the best gross in division 2, 96.
Warwick players had the best stableford scores in two of the four divisions. Ellie Casey was best in division 1 with 33 and Janet Davis scored 31 to be the best in division 3. Other winners were Jan Baulch (division 2, Clifton) with 34 and Danielle Khan (division 4, Oakey) with 35.
The day was the last in an eight-round pennants competition between three players from each of eight clubs. Goombungee won from runners up Warwick after eight open days.
