Mark it on the calendar

THOSE groups planning to take part in Seniors Week this year can get themselves a spot on the calendar of events for free.

In support of Seniors Week, running from August 18 to 26 this year, council is compiling a calendar of Seniors Week events and activities happening across the Southern Downs region.

Manager of community development Sheila Stebbings said the response to last year's calendar was fantastic, with more than 20 organisations holding events.

"The calendar of events is distributed far and wide throughout our region and is just one of the ways that council supports the promotion of Seniors Week and its commitment to seniors in the Southern Downs," Ms Stebbings said.

"The feedback last year was really positive, with the range of events and activities on offer valued greatly by local seniors, and we are anticipating another great response to listings in the calendar this year."

A Seniors Week Calendar of Events Listing Form needs to be completed by interested parties.
