Maroons selection for squash player from Warwick

SQUASH: Cameron Darton has been selected in the Queensland School Sports Squash team to play against New Zealand and NSW in the Trans-Tasman Challenge in Rockhampton in August.

Darton (SOTE), Mitch Lyons (Warwick High) and Sean Bryson (Assumption) represented Darling Downs in the recent state championships in Rockhampton. Darton and Lyons played in the 19 years and under age division.

Lyons was the pool winner for division 3 while Darton played in A division in Rockhampton and will be the Queensland No.3 player in the challenge tournament in August.

Sean Bryson represented Darling Downs in 15 years and under division D and was the pool winner.

This year's championships will be the last for year 12 student Darton at schoolboys level while Lyons and Bryson debuted at state championship level this year.

Darling Downs region finished fourth.

In the Warwick Rose Squash Club preliminary final, Saucony beat Adidas 3-1 on Tuesday and will play Reebok in the grand final on Friday night.
