Maryvale remain undefeated in Condamine Cup
CRICKET: A stunning all-round effort have seen Maryvale finish the first part of the Condamine Cup cricket season undefeated.
Michael Bourke got Maryvale off to a great start, top scoring with 85 after opening the batting.
Andy Ryan contributed with 32 not out, putting the unbeaten side in a good position, after finishing at 6-228.
Coen Slatter was the pick of the bowlers for the Redbacks with 2-30.
In response, Redbacks were bowled out for just 91, with Keiren Bourke taking 3-40 to lead the charge.
Justin Wheeler top-scored with 18 runs.
Wheatvale on fire
In yesterday's action, Wheatvale continued their hot run of form, claiming a 4-wicket victory over Rascals.
Steve Jones took 4-17 from eight overs for Wheatvale, as Rascals were restricted to just 72 runs from 24 overs.
Paul Christensen and Jamie Holmes top scored for Rascals with 18 runs each.
There were some nervous moments for Wheatvale in their chase, as six wickets fell, thanks to strong bowling from Tom Morris (four wickets) and Joe Morris (two wickets).
However they were able to steady the ship, with Steve Jones and Kieren Jordan both finishing unbeaten on 14 runs.
Allora and Sovereign played out a thrilling tie at Slade Park on Saturday.
