Goods galore at auction
PUTTING on a lavish three-course dinner for six and not having to touch a single kitchen utensil sounds like an unrealistic dream – but for one fortunate ball attendee, that luxury is on the horizon.
As part of the 150th Mayoral Gala Charity Ball auction tonight, a number of generous donations have flooded in from local businesses and community members.
Sporting icon Shane Webcke has already stuck up his hand and has offered a dinner for four at his Leyburn Hotel, where he will play host.
Rupert’s Bar and Grill has been the latest business to lend their support to the charity auction through the talent of new head-chef Grant Calvert.
Mr Calvert will consult with the winning bidder to design a three-course menu and detailed shopping list. The talented chef will then visit the person’s home to work his magic in the kitchen for six people. The night of the dinner is open to negotiation, but excludes Saturday night.
Other donations for the auctions include an esky in an outdoor wooden container from Bunnings Warehouse, as well as beauty items and vouchers for local businesses.
All proceeds from the charity auctions will go towards the Warwick Dementia Support Group, Warwick Safe Haven Domestic Violence Shelter and Warwick Blue Care.
The Warwick Hockey Club will also benefit by running the bar.
