Strong market at first Pig and Calf Sale for 2016

MCDOUGALL and Sons auctioneer Dennis Burke said there was a very strong market of calves and a small yarding of pigs for the first sale of 2016.

Pigs

 Light pork - top of $150

 Grower pigs - top of $149

 Weaners - top of $85

 Best bacon - top of $263

Calves

 Light veal - top of $465

 Medium trade weight calves - $186-$280

 Light grass eater calves - $220-$300

 Beef rearer calves - $185-$220

 Light dairy bull calves - $30-$59
