Meet Noah – he could save your life one day

AFTER four months of training, pulling on his new uniform to start work was a proud moment for Noah Littell-Shires, Warwick's newest firefighter.

Mr Littell-Shires, who hails from the Gold Coast, clocked on at the Warwick Fire Station yesterday.

After working as a lifeguard on the Gold Coast for a number of years the recruit is no newbie to the work of saving lives.

But firefighting was always his true calling.

"It is something that is in my family and I have always been interested in it," Mr Littell-Shires said.

"When the opportunity came up I jumped on it."

Mr Littell-Shires graduated from the academy on Thursday, along with 15 other recruits.

He moved into his new home in Warwick on Friday.

"Warwick was one of my preferences," Mr Littell-Shires said.

"I had heard really good things about Warwick and it is not that far from my family who still live on the Gold Coast," he said.

"Warwick is smaller than I am used to but the people are friendlier."

Mr Littell-Shires said he was looking forward to getting to know, and working with the Warwick community.

Yesterday was his first day on the job and Mr Littell-Shires said he was enjoying it already.
