Meet the 'real' Kelly gang...

FRANK Kelly always thought the fact he was distantly related – albeit it through his mother’s side – to the nation’s most infamous bushranger would be glory enough.

But it seems simply being a Kelly in the Rose City brings with it new recognition.

The surname is the third most common moniker in Warwick in this year’s White Pages, which comes as no surprise for Mr Kelly.

When he started Year 1 more than 40 years ago at St Mary’s School there were five other Kelly boys in his class. Ironically none were his relatives.

“There are plenty of Kellys in my generation,” he said.

Last year to his delight his first grandson, Charlie, arrived.
