Men grabbed woman and stole goods

A PROSTITUTE who believed she was opening her door to a client discovered two men who had something completely different in mind, a court has heard.

Juan Kevin Lloyd Bright, 26, and his accomplice allegedly burst into the woman's motel room shouting, “where's the money?”

One man had held her by the hair while the other scoured the room for goods to steal, the court heard.

The pair allegedly got away with $700, two Nokia mobile phones and a Toshiba laptop.

Rockhampton police identified Bright from security footage and discovered him at a Gracemere address on August 25.

Bright appeared before Rockhampton Magistrates Court charged with robbery and entering a dwelling with intent to commit a crime.

He was also charged with two counts of breaching bail and a fail to appear warrant.

Police prosecutor Karen Dunham said Bright had been released on bail after being found guilty of trafficking drugs and unlawful supply of weapons on August 11, 2010.

The bail conditions included informing police if he was moving from his Rockhampton home to another address and completing 200 hours of community service.

Bright's lawyer Anthony De Fraine said his client moved homes because his partner, who was pregnant with Bright's child, was suffering morning sickness and he wanted to help her.

The couple already had one child together.

Ms Dunham said Bright had completed 91 hours of his community service.

Mr De Fraine said his client had a methamphetamine addiction.

Magistrate Barry Cosgrove sentenced Bright to three months in prison wholly suspended for 12 months for breaching his bail conditions and fined him $100 for failing to appear at court.

The robbery charges were adjourned until September 28 and Bright entered no pleas. He was remanded in custody.
