Men speeding in stolen car tracked and caught

AN allegedly stolen car was found being driven at high speed through the South Brisbane area last night.

Polair discovered the car during its patrol at around 11:45pm and identified it as a car stolen from Heritage Park on February 8.

Officers tracked the vehicle as it made its way through the Ipswich and Logan areas. 

The two men fled from the vehicle when road blocks were put up on the Gateway Motorway at Eight Mile Plains around 12:30pm.

The dog squad caught the two men and they were taken into custody.

A 20-year-old Marsden man has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and failure to store ammunition in a secure area.

A 25-year-old Marsden man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failure to store ammunition in a secure area and failure to properly dispose of a syringe.

They are both due to appear in the Holland Park Magistrates Court on February 13.
