Migrating whales put on a show off Rainbow

HUMPBACK whales put on a great show for beach goers at Rainbow Beach over the weekend.

Each year more and more humpbacks are enjoying the Cooloola Coast and seem to be venturing closer to shore.

The whales made the most of near perfect conditions at Rainbow over the weekend with many breaching off Double Island Pt.

One lucky Rainbow Beach Dolphin View Kayak tour had a pod of whales travel between them and the headland while surfers at Double Island said the whales were coming really close to shore.
