FOUND: Man, 38, located after Karara house fire

UPDATE 7.40pm: A man who was missing after a fire gutted a Karara home today has been found.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Police Services said the man, aged 38, was located safe and well.

There were no further details on where the man was found.

Police and family members held serious concerns for the man's welfare after he went missing following the blaze that destroyed a Karara home.

Police wished to thank the community for their support.

INITIAL 5pm: Police have released an image of the man missing after a fire gutted a home at Karara today.

He could not be found after the blaze, which broke out about 11.40am, despite his vehicle and dog still being at the residence.

Police believe the man, who has a medical condition, may have left the property on foot.

He is described as being Caucasian, about 177cm tall with a slim build and short brown hair.

Police and family hold serious concerns for the man's well being and are urging anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the house fire on Wickham Rd, just off Toowoomba-Karara Rd, at 11.43am today.

When they arrived the home, located on the Oaklands property, was completely engulfed in flames.
