Mixed day for Queensland in the National Polocrosse Championships

POLOCROSSE: Queensland went down 20-12 to New South Wales in an open women’s polocrosse game at the nationals in Albury yesterday.

New South Wales led 12-3 before Queensland more than matched it with the Blues in the final four chukkas.

Warwick club president Les Fraser watched the game and said the Queensland team played well after conceding the early lead.

Lauren Cant, Ella Elks and Ryle Waugh from the Cunningham club were all impressive for Queensland.

Western Australia beat Victoria 25-10 in open women’s.

Queensland are long shots for a finals berth in women’s but are in with a chance in open mixed despite a 20-18 loss to New South Wales.

The Maroons have a finals chance in U16 boys despite a 20-13 loss to New South Wales yesterday. Callum Brook (Warwick) and Daniel Cooper (Cunningham) are in the Queensland boys team.
