Mixed results for Warwick and Killarney in weekend footy

EARLY in the season, the Warwick Redbacks men and Warwick Wolves colts could be the early favourites for a grand final spot in regional footy.

The Redbacks won 17. 8. (110) to 3. 1. (19) to remain unbeaten in division 2 Aussie Rules while the Demonic Redbacks lost in women's but showed plenty of enthusiasm.

The major Redbacks scorer for the men was Kris Millard with six while Nick Donges and Cameron Peterson kicked four majors each.

Wolves colts are on top of the Toowoomba football table after a 2-0 win against premiers West Wanderers. Willowburn beat Warwick 5-0 in reserves.

Declan Butler and Brad Cook kicked goals for the Wolves while Saxon Charles and Will Gordon had outstanding games. The Wolves Colts have qualified for the President's Cup final.

In the Border Rugby League, premiers Inglewood beat Killarney Cutters 50-22 at Inglewood.

The best players in the game were Brent Osborne, Robbie Morris (Inglewood) and Ian Brown (Killarney). John Trindall played all 80 minutes in the front row while Josh Drennert and Jacob Grayson also played well for the Cutters.

Tenterfield Tigers beat Stanthorpe Gremlins 38-18 in a BRL game. Scott Johns, Michael Parnell and captain-coach Gary Skimmings were the Gremlins best.
