OPINION: Spotlight on community's talent at Fashionarty
MODELLING isn't my forte, I consider myself more the writing type - but when I was approached by a local artist to model for the Warwick Artists' Group's Fashionarty event I took up the challenge.
While I was sceptical at first, what ensued was the opportunity to become involved with a passionate community group full of talented and incredibly kind locals.
Throughout the past two months of photo shoots, model fittings and run-throughs, I've grown to know many of the wonderful people involved with running such a great community event.
Friday night the spotlight shone bright on some amazing artistic talent hidden here in the Rose City.

While there are plenty of opportunities for local artists to show off paintings or sculpture, there are few opportunities for them to demonstrate their creativity and colour on the catwalk.
We live in a town of many talented people, across all facets of the community - the arts, the sporting field, academically - and the more recognition and support they are given, the brighter they will shine.
Congratulations to the Warwick Artists' Group, Fashionarty organisers and participants on a successful night.
It was a privilege to be a part of the night, and even more of a privilege to show a little bit of community pride.
