Mooloolaba Christmas boat parade a winner with kids

WHEN it comes to Christmas, there's nothing quite like Mooloolaba Yacht Club's boat parade.

Boaties, and waterfront home owners, go out of their way to share the festive spirit.

And the smiles on the faces of children - and their parents, says it all.

On the weekend, the Christmas spirit was fully evident as sailors took their craft to the water.

More than 60 vessels also took part in a best dressed competition, raising money for the Coast's STEPs charity along the way.

STEPS Charity work to create brighter futures for people with a disability.

They promote equality and provide opportunities for independence and improved quality of life.

STEPS' humble beginnings were sparked way back in 1989 when a group of parents, all of whom had a child with a disability, felt there wasn't enough support in place to allow their children to achieve true independence.

Sunshine Coast based firm Skybiz Video productions captured all the action in the video above.
