More gold for Warwick Cowboys in TRL finals
UPDATE: RUGBY LEAGUE: Warwick has two wins from two games in Toowoomba Rugby League finals footy at Clive Berghofer Stadium today.
In the first game of the day, Warwick beat Valleys 38-20 in the second-division semi to move into week 2 of TRL semis.
In the U18 game, Warwick won 39-10 after conceding the first try of the game to South Burnett and then leading 16-10 at halftime.
Lock Cody Byrne was players' player for the second week running. Warwick will now play a knockout semi next Saturday.
Early in reserve grade today, Warwick and Valleys are 6-all.
EARLIER: In the second division TRL semis game which Warwick won 38-20 against Valleys, Kenny Parsons, Zac O'Connor and Kevin Poole each scored two tries and Mitch Washbourne and David Hallman one.
Parsons kicked three goals. Warwick led 20-8 at halftime.
Fullback Poole amd prop Ben Eastwell were the best for Warwick.
Coach David Hallman said he was impressed with the performance of his team.
"We really play well, especially in the second half although we conceded two tries in the last five minutes,” he said.
The Cowboys now play Dalby on Saturday in a knockout semi final.
Hallman played in the second row and came through without injury in his comeback game from a broken collarbone.
