More gold medals for Woodenbong's golden archer

SINCE the World Archery Indoor Championship in Turkey where young Remy Leonard, Woodenbong's archer won the Bronze medal, he has followed this win with an amazing week where he competed in the Youth National Championships near Penrith NSW and coming home with 3 Gold Medals in Cadet Male Compound, Field, Target and Target.

Following the Nationals the same venue held the Australian Youth Open where Remy, age 16, competed against up to age 20 years.

He succeeded with a win and Gold medal in the Individual Compound.

Younger sister Tabitha, age 12 years, also competed in the same Youth National Championships and won 2 Bronze medals so is following in Remy's footsteps.

One to watch for the future.

Coming up, during the school holidays Remy is heading to New Zealand for the Trans-Tasman Cup held every two years.

Hopefully he will help keep that trophy in Australia for another couple of years.

"The community has been a real support and I would like to thank everyone who has helped in any way and or donated money toward Remy's goals," Chris Leonard, Remy's father said.

Community support in whatever way possible is always welcome and appreciated to get Remy to his National and International events, should you want to support Remy please donate by way of Bank Deposit into the Woodenbong Central School's Administration Account: BSB 032.001 Account: 156839 for Remy Leonard.
