YOUR SAY: More praise for councillors

READERS have had a mostly positive response to the councillors' response to issues in the past week.

Cr Neil Meiklejohn was among those given the highest praise by readers, with many impressed by the way he approached the rubbish issue in Palmerin St on Sunday morning.

Daily News reader Sandy Jane said she believed Cr Meiklejohn had always been good at his job.

"Whether it's being a councillor or a pizza maker - he has always been there to listen when in need of an ear and jumps into action if he sees a problem needing attention," she wrote.

"I commend Neil on his quick actions and as always a job well done."

Tiger2 from Stanthorpe wrote about their positive experience with the councillors.

"I have found all the councillors to b prompt, polite and keen to help on all issues," they wrote.

"Not that I am a serial complainant, I just have different issues that are best dealt with by different people - such as Ross and Gow on my wild dog problems, they are excellent.

"The only one I await responses from is the Mayor - even the new CEO seems pleasant enough."

Others were less impressed with the councillors.

Dick Howard said it was no big deal and that lot of people work seven days a week.

"Most work much harder than just answering a phone call or issuing instructions to others to do the work," he wrote.
