More than a hundred Motorcycle Sportsmen riders ready

ONE hundred and sixteen riders will be at Morgan Park Raceway for the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland meeting this weekend.

There will be a track day today with qualifying from 9am and racing from 12.30pm tomorrow and racing from 9am to 4pm Sunday.

The meeting will be the fifth and final round this year of the Southern Downs Road Race Series.

One of the riders expected to perform well is Brisbane-based Tayla Relph who has competed internationally.

She will be in the moto3 class.

Joshua Cuming needs a strong performance to wrap up the superbike class this weekend. He hails from Townsville and has been at all rounds this season.

The meeting this weekend will be the seventh run by the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland at Morgan Park Raceway this year.

Club vice-president Simon Dickson said the club was about to finish its biggest year at Morgan Park Raceway.

"We will absolutely be back with at least as many meetings next year and will run our second Australian Superbike Championship round in March or April at the track," Dickson said.

"Riders numbers have been great and the track is improving."

Cost to watch is free.

Sidecar ride offers

THERE will be a sidecar come-and-try tomorrow afternoon with sign on at 3pm in the pit area.

Anyone interested in a ride in a sidecar is asked to bring a helmet, riding leathers if possible, and $5 to cover the sidecar ride and a sausage sizzle.
