More than just dieting on weight crunchers’ menu

HEALTHY eating and great company will be on the menu when the Warwick Weight Crunchers weigh in to their 15th anniversary next week.

The health-conscious Warwick women will celebrate with a special morning tea at Oak Tree on Monday.

While the group’s name may suggest they are all about losing weight, president Rosemary Rasanen said there were about so much more.

“We’re not a diet group, we’re all about healthy eating,” she said.

“We developed our own healthy eating plan – the only thing we have issues with is cutting sugar.”

Every Monday for the past 15 years the women have been meeting and discussing health foods, their struggles with weight and having more than a few laughs along the way.

Mrs Rasanen said the group had 33 members.

“We’ve been going for a long time for a small group,” she said.

“Everyone is very supportive of one another. “We all fit in really well.”

The Weight Crunchers will meet in at the hall at Oak Tree from 10am on Monday, with morning tea to follow.

Mrs Rasanen thanked the management of Oak Tree for supporting the group and said local women were welcome to head along and join in.

“The first meeting is free for new members,” she said.

“We welcome anyone to just sit in and listen.”
