Is new CBD motel good for Warwick: YOUR SAY

SOUTHERN Downs Regional Council has given the green light for a new motel to be built on Percy St.

Why does the council think this will ease their money problem? No-one has money to throw away on a motel. Why do we need more? There are enough now.

- Carol Ogden

They come in handy for big events like the rodeo. People don't come if there isn't a place to stay because every other motel is booked.

- Kirra Davidson

Chapman Motels are booked out a lot. You have all the car racing events, which happen a lot, polocrosse events, plus others.

- Kellie Haley

Warwick needs more business and more jobs and a more positive attitude from its residents and council. The town will die otherwise. I think good on any business that offers more jobs and opportunities for a small town.

What about becoming an RV- friendly town?

Open up the showgrounds especially when events like Jumpers and Jazz is on.

Them nomads have money to spend. - MaureenKel Bailey

Allowing someone to open another motel in Warwick is not going to cost the council anything however the revenue that potential extra tourists staying there could help with the local economy, therefore actually helping the council's money problems.

- Daniel Wood

Because some people feel the need to lash out at the council every chance possible?

- Rowan Cahill

Great choice!! - Tori Costigan

Talking of visitors it would be wonderful for Warwick to have a place on the wikicamp site.

It has been proven that it is beneficial to the local businesses, such a shame. Allora is the only place to stay although good for Allora.

- Eileen Wyatt

Thumbs up for the motel. More visitors, more business, now we just need to attract the visitors.
