Warwick mothers' enjoy a top day
WHETHER it was sharing scones and a cuppa, enjoying the sunshine at Leslie Park or just relaxing at home, mums around Warwick enjoyed a little indulgence for Mothers Day yesterday.
The pristine weather made a trip to Leslie Park an ideal outing for Roxanne Walker, fiance Michael Allison and their two boys Edward and William.
Miss Walker said her day started with an unconventional – but much appreciated – breakfast.
“Usually I’ll have breakfast cooked for me, but I forgot to take the bacon out of the freezer yesterday so Michael went and got Hungry Jacks,” she laughed.
“Hopefully I won’t have to cook dinner either.
“But it’s nice to just relax and not do much.”
Sons Edward, 2, and William, 1, certainly had a ball at the park and were transfixed by a lawnmower.
Downtown on Palmerin St, sisters Kyarnee, Demika and Shanae were on their way to buy some chocolate for mum, while proudly holding on to freshly-bought roses.
Asked whether they would be tidying their rooms as a special treat for their mum, the trio answered they’d already done it.
“I always keep mine clean,” older sister Shanae said. And what did they love best about mum?
“She gives me lots of kisses, even when I’m at school,” said Demika.
“She makes my own bed,” answered Kyarnee.
“She buys things for me,” said Shanae.
