Motor racing, karting, boxing - it is all happening
THERE was action at all three motorsport facilities at Morgan Park at the weekend and more to come this weekend.
The 6 Banger Nationals were on at Warwick Dragway, a road race round at the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland meeting at Morgan Park Raceway and practice at the dirt bike track.
I saw some no vacancy signs at Warwick motels at the weekend, partly due to the action at Morgan Park.
THIS weekend, the Junior Top Guns are on at the Warwick Karting Club at Sandy Creek Raceway with total prizes on offer in the five-figure range.
They will come from most states for the Junior Top Guns, a meeting that is becoming more popular by the year due to the hard work of club president Peter Lane, his committee and the volunteers.
The economic benefit to Warwick from events put on by volunteers would be in the millions.
IF THEY were giving out prizes for participation, dedication, commitment and the like in sport, Warwick boxer Kyle Teer would need a truck to take the prizes home.
He loses more than he wins but keeps coming back. On Sunday, he went down when the referee stopped the fight against former Stanthorpe boxer Chris Brackin in the final round at Smithy's TGW Gym.
