Motorcyclist airlifted after crash at Morgan Park Raceway

A MAN aged in his 50s was involved in a motorcycle crash at Morgan Park Raceway at noon yesterday, requiring urgent transport by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.

A spokesman said the man, from Warwick, sustained suspected head injuries and an elbow injury.

He said the man was racing in a time trial when he came off his bike.

"He was in the middle of a race and crashed at considerable speed," the spokesman said.

"We flew him from Warwick Hospital to the PA Hospital just after 3pm."

The man, whose identity had not been released by time of printing of the Daily News last night, is understood to have been in a coaching session ahead of this weekend's Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland event at Morgan Park Raceway.
