Motorhome, ute collide at Karara

UPDATE 1.20PM: THREE people involved in a head-on crash at Karara this morning have extraordinarily escaped life-threatening injury.

The male driver of the utility was left with fractured legs and a chest injury and the male driver of the Winnebago suffered minor injuries.

A female passenger of the second vehicle was uninjured.

Early reports indicate fatigue may have been a factor in the collision and a local rural firefighter comforted the injured for half an hour while emergency services made their way to the scene.

The Cunningham Hwy at Karara remains closed to heavy vehicles and motorists are advised to delay all non-urgent travel in the area.

Lengthy delays are expected while the road is cleared.
