Lucky escape for female motorist
A FEMALE motorist in her mid-30s careered into an embankment on the Yangan-Killarney Road and rolled her Toyota Echo at 8.30am yesterday.
Police said the driver was lucky to escape with only minor bruising and was immediately admitted to Warwick Hospital.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Top Swanfels Road after a vehicle allegedly stopped in the middle of the road and caused the woman to overturn to avoid a collision.
Warwick Police confirmed it was still under investigation.
In a separate incident about an hour later an 82-year-old man was trapped in his vehicle for 30 minutes after colliding with a truck while making a right-hand turn off the Cunningham Highway 15 kilomtres west of Warwick.
It is alleged a 41-year-old Victorian truck driver towing a trailer tried to overtake the man's vehicle on an unbroken line.
The 82-year-old station wagon driver was taken to Warwick Hospital with a cut to the head, along with a male passenger from the truck with minor injuries.
The truck driver has since been charged with driving without due care and attention.
The east-bound lane was blocked for 90 minutes.
