MP presents Australian Flag to Warwick Golf Club
GOLF: Member for Maranoa David Littleproud has presented a flag to the Warwick Golf Club just in time for Australia Day.
The flag will be flown with pride on Australia Day when the club has a special golf competition.
Mr Littleproud and his family had dinner with Warwick Golf Club committee members at the Hawker Rd Function Centre after he presented the flag.
"I am allocated 50 flags a year and have given out seven in the past week,” he said.
Some of the flag donations in the past week have been to the only policeman in Eulo where there is a population of 20 and flags to the Yallambee Aged Home at Millmerran, the RSL at Nanango and the Chinchilla Tourist Information Centre.
Warwick Golf Club member Mary Young arranged the flag donation and said the club had also requested a new Queensland flag and was designing a new club flag.
"The new Warwick Golf Club flag will be in our colours maroon and gold,” she said.
"Our previous Australian flag needed replacing after more than a decade.”
