Music club hold flood fundraiser

ENJOYING a sausage sizzle lunch while being entertained by 30 country music artists is a great way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon, especially while helping a worthy cause.

The Warwick and District Country Music Club is holding a flood appeal fundraiser this weekend, and president Ron Farrell is encouraging people of all ages to roll up.

“Come down and enjoy a good afternoon with great music and donate to a good cause,” he said.

Mr Farrell said the club was inspired to hold the concert because they wanted to help people who were struggling to replace flood-damaged items.

“The club does a lot of charity work and we thought we’d like to help out with a cash donation,” he said.

An entry fee of $10 includes a sausage sizzle, afternoon tea, tea and coffee and entertainment. The concert will be held this Sunday at Slade Hall from 11am and all funds will be donated to the Southern Downs Mayoral Flood Appeal.
