My Kitchen Rules teams to cook up cheer in North Bundy

THERE'S nothing like the smell of a home cooked meal to lift flagging spirits and the Queensland teams from the popular television cooking show My Kitchen Rules will be in Bundaberg tomorrow cooking for the community.

Brother and sister team from the Sunshine Coast Jake and Elle and Hervey Bay duo Dan and Steph will be setting up the barbies over North Bundaberg to cook lunch for anyone who wants to turn up.

"I've been through the floods in Brisbane in 2010/11 and I know the heartbreak that is involved in cleaning up after floodwaters have been through your home.

Jake, Dan, Steph and myself just want to do something that may take people's minds off the task with which they are currently involved," Elle said.

The couple will be cooking from 11am serving up sausages and steak sandwiches.

"We would love to meet with as many of the flood affected residents as possible just to say we support you and appreciate the tough times you are experiencing," Elle said.

The teams will be located at the end of the traffic bridge in the Thirsty Camel car park.

Residents from the south side of the bridge can walk across to meet with the teams and enjoy the barbecue.
