NAB golf to support worthy cause in Warwick

GOLF: For the past three decades, NAB has sponsored and organised an annual golf day at the Warwick Golf Club.

This year's event is on Sunday and is being organised by Paul Swift in conjunction with the golf club and the pro shop.

Swift said money raised at the NAB Mercantile Golf Day would go to the Warwick Dementia Support Group.

"The money raised for the group will help with the fit out and ongoing support for the respite unit at Regency Park.

"We will hold some multi-draw raffles and cash boards on the day to also support the dementia support group,” he said.

NAB will field three teams in the four ball ambrose, including some players from Toowoomba.

Swift has played in the NAB Mercantile Day for the six years he has been in Warwick and said he was yet to win a prize.

"My best chance is to go for the best dressed team prize,” he said.

As for the golfers from NAB, Swift listed Terry Duggan as one to watch.

"He is a big hitting left hander with a long drive,” Swift said.

"Terry can score well if the conditions are right.”

There will be $1500 in prizes on Sunday with shot gun start at 12 noon. All golfers and non-golfers welcome.

Cost is $30 for non-members, $15 for Warwick members.

Free finger food after play. Phone 46613664 for team and cart bookings.
